How SMS opt-in works

The LifeRise Solutions SMS program, documented publicly

This page shows exactly how LifeRise Solutions collects consent before sending any text message, so that anyone — including wireless carriers and compliance reviewers — can verify the flow without needing an account. The interface below is not a screenshot or a mockup: it is the actual consent component from the LifeRise app, rendered here in a display-only mode from the same code a signed-in user sees.

Step 1 — The user asks us to verify their phone number

A signed-in user enters their phone number and taps “Send code” — on the screen shown right after signing up, or later on the Text Messages card on their profile page. A one-time verification code is texted to that number: a transactional message sent only because the user actively requested it. It is the only text LifeRise sends without the consent collected in Step 2.

You’ll receive a one-time verification code by SMS at this number. Message and data rates may apply. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.

Step 2 — Two separate consents, each its own unchecked checkbox

The user enters the 6-digit code from the text. Alongside it, two independent consent checkboxes are shown, both unchecked by default and never pre-selected. The first covers service and account texts (booking updates, verification codes). The second — clearly labeled Optional — covers marketing texts only: promotional and offer messages are sent solely to users who affirmatively check that separate marketing box (or later text START after having opted in). Marketing consent is never bundled with any other consent, and checking either box is a separate action from creating an account or accepting any other agreement. Each recorded consent is stored with its own timestamp. Neither box is required: a user can verify their number and use every part of LifeRise with both boxes left unchecked. A user who checks the service box receives one confirmation text that names LifeRise and explains HELP and STOP. The exact disclosures appear below, rendered from the app’s real component.

The program, in plain terms

  • Three message types, two consents: one-time verification codes are sent only when the user requests one; service and account texts (booking confirmations, declines and cancellations, and new-booking alerts for service providers) require the first checkbox; promotional texts require the separate, optional marketing checkbox — collected on its own, never combined with any other consent.
  • Consent is never a condition of signing up, booking, or using LifeRise in any way.
  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to any message to opt out — honored automatically. Reply HELP for help, or START to opt back in after a STOP.
  • Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
